1.              Meeting called to order by President-Elect Ronald Sakaguchi, 5:32 PM (EDT).  Supreme Chapter Officers were introduced from the podium: Andre Ritter, Vice President (Sigma Sigma Chapter); Jon Suzuki, Secretary-Treasurer (Kappa Kappa Chapter); and Ronald Sakaguchi, President-Elect (Delta Chapter).  Brian Suzuki, Executive Director, was also in attendance. 

 

2.         President Sakaguchi reminded delegates missing 2 consecutive meetings means potential loss of recognition. 

 

3.         Determination of quorum: by both attendance sheet sign-in confirmation and show of hands, there was a quorum. 

 

4.         President-Elect Sakaguchi advised delegates to give their names and chapter affiliations when addressing the chair.

 

5.         President-Elect Sakaguchi entertained a motion to dispense with reading of March 9, 2025 business meeting minutes.  The Delegate from Zeta Eta Chapter so moved.  Beta Kappa Chapter seconded.  Approved.

 

6.         President-Elect Sakaguchi entertained a motion to approve the minutes as posted on the website.  Entertained motion to approve.  The Delegate from Delta Chapter so moved.  The Delegate from Mu Chapter seconded.  Approved. 

 

7.         President’s Remarks: President-Elect Sakaguchi invited Secretary-Treasurer Suzuki to read President Murdoch-Kinch’s opening remarks.  Secretary-Treasurer Suzuki read President Murdoch-Kinch’s opening remarks. President-Elect Sakaguchi invited delegates to submit business card, name, etc., for consideration to serve on a Supreme Chapter Committee at the conclusion of the meeting.

 

8.         Reading of Reports

a.     Board of Director’s Meeting Minutes (3.22.2026) – Secretary-Treasurer Suzuki read the report.

b.     Secretary Report – Secretary-Treasurer Suzuki read the report. 

c.     Treasurer Report – Secretary-Treasurer Suzuki read the report. 

d.     Auditing Committee Report – President-Elect Sakaguchi read the report.

e.     Budget and Finance Committee Report – Secretary-Treasurer Suzuki read the report

f.      Nominating Committee Report – President-Elect Sakaguchi read the report.

g.     Bylaws Committee Report – Immediate-Past-President Clark Stanford read the report.

 

9.         Call for approval – President-Elect Sakaguchi

a.     President-Elect Sakaguchi called for approval of the committee reports.  The Delegate from Delta Delta Chapter so moved.  The Delegate from Nu Nu Chapter seconded.  Approved.

b.     President-Elect Sakaguchi called for approval of the VP nominee.  The Delegate from Beta Delta Chapter so moved.  The Delegate from Mu seconded.  Approved. 

c.     President-Elect Sakaguchi called for approval of the Bylaw Amendment.  The Delegate from Zeta Eta Chapter so moved.  The Delegate from Sigma Chapter Seconded. Approved. 

 

10.       Award Announcements –

a.     Vice President Andre Ritter gave remarks on the Leeper Award and the winner, Dr. Richard Valachovic, Omega Chapter (New York University).  The Delegate of Omega Chapter received the award and read remarks from Dr. Valachovic. 

b.     President-Elect Sakaguchi read remarks on the Craig Award and the winner, Dr. Serena Simone, Omega Chapter (New York University).  The Delegate from Omega Chapter received the award and expressed gratitude on behalf of Dr. Simone. 

c.     President-Elect Sakaguchi gave remarks on the Chapter Award then presented the award to Delta Delta Chapter, University of the Pacific.  The Delegates from Delta Delta Chapter received the award.  The plaque will be delivered later this year.

d.     Secretary-Treasurer Jon Suzuki gave remarks about the Research Award and winner, Dr. Erika Michele dos Santos Araujo, Midwestern University (AZ).  The Delegate from Beta Delta received the award and expressed gratitude on behalf of Dr. Araujo.

 

11.       Secretary-Treasurer Jon Suzuki read the 2025 necrology.  There was a moment of silent reflection.  Secretary-Treasurer Jon Suzuki called for any missed names to be submitted to the Supreme Chapter.

 

12.       President-Elect Sakaguchi asked if there was any unfinished business.  Executive Director Brian Suzuki reminded delegates to please sign the attendance sheet if they had not already done so.

 

13.       There was no Old Business

 

14.       New Business –

a.     President-Elect Sakaguchi informed the delegates that there is a possibility of Inductee and/or Chapter dues increases in 2026-2027.  However, all changes are contingent on national and global economic changes.  Any changes will be announced in late summer or early fall via email and posted to website.

b.     President-Elect Sakaguchi informed the delegates starting in fall of 2026, Chapter Award winners shall be exempt from chapter dues for their next upcoming payment cycle.

 

15.       Secretary Treasurer Jon Suzuki installed the 2026-2027 Supreme Chapter Officers: President Ron Sakaguchi, President-Elect Andre Ritter, Vice President Caroll-Ann Trotman, and Secretary-Treasurer Jon Suzuki. 

 

16.       President Ronald Sakaguchi gave remarks.

 

17.       President Sakaguchi called for additional business, recommendations or suggestions for the betterment of OKU.  The Delegate from Sigma Tau requested the website show some information on award winners, such as image, caption, or short bio. 

 

18.       President Sakaguchi reminded delegates that bylaws mandate they are to submit an annual report at least 30 days prior to the annual business meeting. A form is available at www.okusupreme.org.

 

19.       President Sakaguchi announced there will be a post-business meeting in compliance with OKU Supreme Chapter by laws. 

 

20.       President Sakaguchi made a motion for adjournment.  There was a motion to adjourn.  Seconded.  Approved.
